Our core mission is to simplify how you track product expiry dates. We aim to:

This vision stems from personal experiences with food waste and a commitment to creating a practical solution.

Who We Are

WasteLess is a passion project by a solo developer from Ukraine. My core motivations are:

  • To build something genuinely useful: I'm driven by the desire to create a tool that truly helps people.
  • To continuously improve it: Much like leveling up a character in a game, I aim to keep adding new features (our 'items') and enhancing its capabilities (our 'skills').
  • A personal quest for a vital tool: This project is a personal journey to build an application that I, and hopefully many others, will find indispensable in becoming more mindful of our resources.

What WasteLess Offers: Scan & Forget

The core of WasteLess is its effortless tracking system, designed so you can take a picture and forget about it:
  1. Smart Scanning: Simply snap a photo of your product. WasteLess works to automatically extract barcode information, production dates, and expiry dates.
  2. Automated Notifications: We schedule smart reminders via email, Google Calendar, or Notion (you choose!) to alert you before items expire.
  3. Full User Control: While automation is key, you always have the ability to manually add or adjust dates and notification preferences to fit your needs.
Our primary goal is to make product tracking so easy, it seamlessly integrates into your life.

While WasteLess is currently an accessible Progressive Web App (PWA), we're aim at:

  • Enhanced Scanning Technology: Continuously refining scanning accuracy and expanding support for a wider variety of product types from different countries.
  • Potential Business Features: Exploring tools tailored for small businesses or store owners if there's clear demand, while always keeping individual users and households as our primary audience.
